Celebrity Negativity

I haven't made a post in a couple of days due to a lot of recent developments. Yesterday I was on my way home from school and I was listening to the radio. I usually don't listen to the hip hop stations because all you hear is Drake songs back to back now days or Maxwell's "Pretty Wings". That stuff gets played so much its annoying. I heard during the hip hop news of the day that Rihanna finally broke her silence on the Chris Brown Domestic Violence case. I thought wow thats interesting, I wanted to see what she had to say as well because magazines lie so hearing it from her will be the truth.
Arrived home and texted Vanessa about the videoto see if she already seen it before me but somehow we ended up talking more about Trey Songz than anything lol. Vanessa had of course already seen the video on MediaTakeOut.com so I went to go check it out. I watched the video expecting to hear details about their relationship and why he really hit her. News then said, "Tomorrow we find out what reallly happened." Media leaves you hanging and wanting to know more. But of course thats how it works then I thought about it and was like why am I so curious about their business when there is so much more going on in the world. Bigger issues! Asked Vanessa the same question and she said, "Yep I feel a blog coming on!"
When Media interviews these celebrities, they split the interview into two parts. The first part of the interview seems to always be the good parts and advice on certain topics and the second part is the juicy details, in this Rihanna video they asked her what has she learned from the situation and what advice can she give young girlst hat are going through domestic violence. Seemed kind of backwards to me but I guess I would have thought they would have asked her about the situation and relationship before asking her for the advice. Hyping it up all over television that Rihanna has "broken the silence" about her and Chris Brown. Everyone runs to see the first part of the interview but really the second part is where all the dirt comes out about their relationship and how it lead to violence. Again, why are we always in someone else's business but never really in a good way, always to judge them or talk them down.

One thing I keep pressing is that we all feed off of negativity, theres more negativity in the news than anything positive. People rather hear bad news than good news no matter how much we like to say "oh thats great news to hear."Seems like we only like to hear good news when it is applying to us of some sort. Next time you watch for example, "Entertainment Tonight" before it's time for the show to start, they advertise the bad news or what we like to call the juicy stories. Nothing is ever advertised on a good note, we always find something to negative to dwell about like there isn't anything more positive to watch. I can't lie, I get caught up in this as well.
Not sure exactly what makes us want to hear or watch news like this but everyone feeds off gossip. Gossip is interesting because it doesn't wind down about a person until that person finally speaks about what is being said about them and why. Once the person speaks about the rumor out on them then everyone backs off of the person being attacked until the next rumor or media headlines hit.
I know its almost always entertaining to read like US Weekly or STAR magazine about your favorite star. The question then hits, why do these writers and photographers get paid so much money just to gossip about a celebrity in a magazine. Hell anybody can do that! All they do is dog celebs out and start rumors to stir people up. It's really quite sad how we can go to a grocery store and when we wait in line for our turn that theres shelves of "Celebrity Attacking Magazines." That is what I call them anyway. Those magazinesare simply there next to you in the grocery store line just so you can read it for what they call "Entertainment." To me that is not entertainment, it's gossip in a book because if you see your favorite star on the magazine in an awkward picture then you are going to call up your best friend or make a new facebook status about what you just seen then they next person spreads it to next and so on. Social learning in the process. Especially if you see a story in there that you must read on about, but you don't have enough time to finish reading it because you are next up in line. Well this is why you end up purchasing the magazine and next week you repeat the same process. Except on the next magazine it will read: "Developing updates" or "What really happened after..."

Considering how people can take pictures of a person and post them without that person's consent is crazy but its just how the world turns.Ninety five percent of those pictures in the magazine are just random pictures where they catch the celebrities doing something and then take it back to the studio to add a caption to it. It can even be Beyonce walking down the street, and the caption will say something to the extent of: "Beyonce spotted walking down Broadway, and did you notice she isn't wearing her ring? Jay-Z isn't going to like this!!!! =-O" Oh wait, then they would find a picture of Jay-Z looking angry or frowning and say it's his reaction. We all fall for it too. SMH!
What people fail to remember is that celebrities are humans just like ourselves but they have the wealth and talent that most of us wish we had.

We also don't think about the what if...-"What if" she just forgot?-"What if" she just washed her hands?-"What if" she is in a rush?-"What if" she just came from a video shoot where she can't wear it? Since a lot of us forget to think about the what if factor then we get caught up in thinking the worst about in this case Beyonce. This story would go on for a good week and a half until she finally spoke on it lol that's how ridiculous it is.
I refuse to buy those magazines because that's insane! For example, all my friends know about this situation because it hit facebook hard. Iwent to one my friend's 21st birthday parties at his girlfriend's house.Night was dull at first until I got a little too much of the alcohol lol. I'm not going to drop any names. *cough* I know I'm responsible for my actions, maybe I shouldn't have been drinking at all.
So, I was fully aware of everyone taking pictures the whole night. I didn't know that I would wake up to the Facebook world seeing these drunken pictures of me. I didn't care about that part but it was the fact that captions MAKE a picture especially if its something like this. You would think that people wouldn't take a picture and add their own caption just to bring more negative to the situation, especiallyif they are your friend. Just from that situation, reminded me of how many hypocrites we have in the world but that will be for another blog post! The fact that we read the magazines, look at the pictures, and then assume from the captions that is posted, that was the REAL story. It goes to show how we truly think as a society and how we aren't helping one another but trying to put the next person down.
